Coco Gauff was dealt a surprise loss in her first-round match against Dayana Yastremska, which saw her quest for a first Wimbledon title come to an early end.

It was an unconvincing performance from the 22-year-old American, as she was overwhelmed by her unseeded opponent, with the bout ending in a 6-7, 1-6, straight set loss.

The loss meant that Gauff is yet to move past the fourth round of Wimbledon, a feat she achieved in her debut tournament in 2019. She will have to aim towards next year to conquer the grass courts of London finally.

Wimbledon 2025 tournament schedule

The first rounds of matches get underway on Monday, June 30, and will conclude on Sunday, July 13. The third grand slam tournament will take place at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London, United Kingdom. 

The doubles tournaments and mixed events will run simultaneously alongside the major singles competitions, concluding with the women's decider on Saturday, July 12, and the men's final on Sunday, July 13, respectively.
