FINAL: No. 10 Buford [GA] routs Roswell [GA] in second half, 65-21

The No. 10 Buford Wolves were back in action after a bye week against the Roswell Hornets.

BUFORD, Georgia, Sept. 5 — The TSN No. 10 Buford Wolves are starting to make some noise.

The Wolves moved into The Sporting News High School Football Top 25 last week, and they nailed their debut in a 65-21 win over the Roswell [GA] Hornets, 65-21, Friday night. The Wolves are now 3-0 while Roswell drops to 2-1.

Buford ranks even higher in The Sporting News Composite Rankings, checking in at No. 8 last week. They are firmly in the conversation now for best team in Georgia along with their fellow GHSA Class 6A compatriots, the TSN No. 7 Grayson [Loganville, GA] Rams. The two schools are located about 21 miles apart northeast of Atlanta, but they aren't scheduled to play each other in the regular season.

They could be on a crash course, however, to meet deep in the playoffs, and there could be national title implications on the line if that matchup comes to fruition.

Next up for Buford is a Friday night matchup with a dangerous Douglas County [Douglasville, GA] Tigers' squad that suffered its first lost in a 44-31 setback to the Langston Hughes [Fairburn, GA] Panthers. Douglas County was ranked No. 27 heading into that game in the TSN Composite Rankings.

Roswell will try to get back on track Friday night at the Westlake [Atlanta, GA] Lions (2-2).
