FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, Sept. 12 — The TSN No. 19 Edna Karr [New Orleans, LA] Cougars defeated the TSN No. 18 American Heritage [Plantation, FL] Patriots, 24-17, in overtime.
The game was the The Sporting News High School Football Game of the Week, and it was played at the Caesars Superdome, the home of the New Orleans Saints.
American Heritage was knocked out of the national championship picture a week ago in a 28-24 home loss to the TSN No. 13 Chaminade-Madonna [Hollywood, FL] Lions. They'll be playing for their spot in the Top 25 against the Cougars who should have the benefit of a large home crowd.
