LAS VEGAS, NV, Sept. 12 — The TSN No. 2 Bishop Gorman [Las Vegas, NV] Gaels defeated the East St. Louis [IL] Flyers, 35-10, Friday night.
East St. Louis was ranked in the TSN Top 25 before losing, 22-21, to the Bergen Catholic [Oradell, NJ] Crusaders in their season opener two weeks ago in The Battle at the Beach in Ocean City, New Jersey. They're still No. 26 in The Sporting News Composite Rankings.
The Flyers were trying to play spoiler in this one as the No. 2 Gaels were set to play the No. 1 Mater Dei [Santa Ana, CA] Monarchs next week in Las Vegas. Mater Dei stumbled, however, in a 43-36 loss to the No. 20 Centennial [Corona, CA] Huskies.
