Nate Oller of Staunton received just over 39 percent of the votes, earning himself The Sporting News Illinois high school football player of the year award.

Right behind Oller was Kye Weinzieri of Geneso, as Max Hembrey of Fox Lake also picked up plenty of support.

In six games, Oller has rushed for 1,241 yards and scored 14 touchdowns, posting almost 207 yards rushing per game.

While Illinois might be more known for producing exceptional high school basketball talent, the players competing in football are pretty dang good, too.
