The resilience of the Indiana Fever continues to be tested. Amid season-ending injuries to guards Sydney Colson, Sophie Cunningham and Aari McDonald in the past two weeks, the Fever faces heightened competition in the race for the WNBA playoffs while playing without multiple key players.
Officially, the Fever continues to hold out hope that superstar point guard Caitlin Clark will return to the lineup this season. But for the past month, Clark has been nursing a right groin injury that ruled her out of the All-Star Game in Indianapolis and has cost her the past 13 Fever games.

As Indiana prepares for the first of consecutive meetings with the WNBA-best Minnesota Lynx, Fever head coach Stephanie White told reporters that Clark still is not practicing. She is poised to miss her 14th successive game when the Lynx visit Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday night.
"Until she can get into practice, and until you guys see her in practice, it's really status quo, same as same as we have been," White said Wednesday.
When asked if there’s an update on Caitlin Clark, Stephanie White said “Until she can get into practice, and until you guys see her in practice, it's really status quo, same as same as we have been.”

Clark sat off to the side of practice in the portion open to media today.
The situation thus remains the same for Clark, who is facing a race against the clock to return to the court before the regular season concludes on Sept. 9.
The Fever, sixth in the WNBA standings, has nine games left on the schedule and a 2.5-game cushion over the ninth-place Los Angeles Sparks.
