One of the top rookies in the league, Washington Mystics’ Sonia Citron, recently had a candid conversation with veteran teammate Brittney Sykes.

When the topic of Sykes—and some other teammates—not following her on social media came up, Citron made a surprisingly humble remark.

“We don’t follow you back. That is on my to-do list,” Sykes admitted.

To which Citron responded, “I’m not a—substantial figure where you would.”

Her teammate was quick to shut that down: “Yes you are. You were the third pick. What do you mean?”

Citron replied, “I just figured that I have to prove myself and then maybe I’ll get a follow.”

Sykes answered, “No, you instantly get a follow.”

Despite being a standout rookie and a strong candidate for Rookie of the Year, Citron continues to show just how grounded and humble she is.
