The WNBA player's union will enter into negotiations for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the league's leadership later this year. The current CBA expires in October 2025.

The parties have already begun negotiations, but it doesn't necessarily sound like things are going well. While speaking to reporters Tuesday, the Mercury's Satou Sabally (who is the team's union representative), said, "We got a proposal from the league, which was honestly a slap in the face."
Sabally did not offer more details and WNBA leadership has not commented, but that certainly doesn't sound good.
If the players and the league fail to come up with a deal everyone can agree to, it's very likely that there will be a lockout ahead of next season — a reality that could seriously damage the momentum the WNBA has gained in recent years.
While the entire scope of negotiations is not known, players pushing for higher salaries and increased benefits, as well as a more equirtable revenue sharing system.
