Des Hasler's time at the Titans will officially wind up at the end of the regular season.

Gold Coast confirmed the news on Monday, with the veteran coach to remain in charge for the final two games of the season before being moved on.

The 64-year-old had a year to run on his contract with the club but another disappointing season on the field has seen him sacked.

"His deep knowledge, passion and unwavering commitment to excellence have been evident every day he has worked with our club," Titans chairman Dennis Watt said.

"While this season hasn't gone as planned, Des has conducted himself with the dignity and class that has defined his entire career."

Gold Coast currently sit in last place, one win behind the Knights.

Last season, in Hasler's first in charge of the Titans, they finished 14th.

In total, Gold Coast have won 13 of 46 games under the hard-nosed two-time premiership-winning mentor.

Hasler will round out his two-season stint at Parkwood with matches against the Dolphins and Tigers.

The Titans are yet to confirm who will coach them into 2026 and beyond, but a Courier Mail report has named former Cowboys and Maroons back Josh Hannay as the man in line for the job.

Hannay, currently working under Craig Fitzgibbon at the Sharks, is one of the most highly regarded assistants in the game and has long been earmarked for a head coaching role.

Having played in just four finals series since their 2007 introduction into the NRL, the Gold Coast job remains arguably the toughest in the competition and Hannay, who has reportedly agreed a three-year deal, will have his hands full.
