Could Jonah Pezet be set to join the Canberra Raiders in 2026?
It’s on the cards according to the latest mail from former NRL premiership winner Scott Sattler.
Speaking on SEN Saturday League Kick Off, Sattler outlined the potential for a 12-month move that could see Pezet replace veteran Jamal Fogarty whose Raiders career came to an end in Saturday night’s loss to the Cronulla Sharks.
“I’m hearing that Jonah Pezet may be on a loan deal to the Canberra Raiders next year,” Sattler said.
“They’re on a pretty big trajectory moving forward and if the rumours are right, I think they could improve even further.”

On paper the move makes sense, given 22-year-old Pezet would provide a first-grade ready replacement for the departing Fogarty, while also allowing the Raiders another season to assess the development of former Eels U19 star Ethan Sanders, 21, who spent the majority of 2025 in NSW Cup.
Sattler’s mail carries particular weight given Pezet had also been linked with a possible loan move to the Gold Coast Titans—the club Sattler is set to join himself next season as director of football.
Of course, with Pezet’s manager Braith Anasta confidently declaring last week his client is essentially a free agent following the re-signing of Storm half Jahrome Hughes until 2030, a loan deal may not even be required by the Raiders, Titans or any other NRL club.
Whatever 2026 holds, it will need to wait at least another week as Pezet and the Storm prepare to do battle with the Cronulla Sharks in Friday night’s preliminary final in Melbourne.
