The Detroit Lions have added a draft pick to their stable of selections in the 2026 NFL draft.
According to the Associated Press' Mark Long, the Lions are trading Tim Patrick to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
The move is a clear vote of confidence for rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa, who is now slated to take on a significant role in the offense after a standout training camp and preseason.
"He’s going to continue to get better and better. I’m very pleased. We’re very pleased with where he’s at after six weeks of camp because that’s really what it’s been. We just finished six weeks, so I’d say, if you took most receivers, he’d be in the upper echelon of those, as far as development," Campbell said of TeSlaa. "It’s pretty good. It’s not easy to develop as a receiver in this league and be ready to go.
"I think there’s a place for him to help us early in this season."
Meanwhile, Jacksonville gets the "big fifth WR the Jags had been looking for," Long notes.
With the trade, here's an updated look at the Lions' 2026 draft picks.

The Lions initially had two third-round picks in 2026, one of which came as a compensatory pick for the New York Jets hiring Aaron Glenn, but both of those selections were given up in the trade up for TeSlaa.
Detroit added sixth- and seventh-round picks in the same deal, but surrendered a sixth-round pick in the Za'Darius Smith trade with the Cleveland Browns before that.
There's a question mark next to one of the seventh-rounders because the Lions acquired kicker Riley Patterson in 2023 for a conditional 2026 seventh-round selection, but it's unclear if the conditions were met.
