Indian stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are in the twilight of their careers, as fans and experts speculate that not many years are left before the duo decides to call it a day on their respective international careers.
The duo announced their retirement from T20Is back in 2024 after leading India to their 2nd ever T20 World Cup Trophy in Barbados. They followed it up by stepping down from the Test format too, earlier in May, ringing bells of their imminent departure from all forms of cricket.

Both the players are still active in the One-Day International (ODI) format, with both the players expected to feature in the upcoming series against neighbours Bangladesh, which is slated to start on August 17.
With their ODI retirement on the horizon, Cricket Australia has decided to honour the two Indian superstars in their upcoming tour down under.

Likely dates for Kohli and Rohit's tribute by Australia revealed
After the series vs. Bangladesh, team India will travel to Australia for a three-match ODI series starting on October 19. With only a few ODIs left to play before the World Cup in 2027, it is being speculated that this might be the last time the two Indian stalwarts will be seen playing in Australia.
Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg has revealed that they are planning on a great send-off for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for their immense contribution to the world of cricket.
"This might be the last time that we get to see Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma play in our country. And if that is the case, who knows, it might not be, but if it is, we wanna make sure we give them a great send-off and a reflection of the incredible contribution they've made to international cricket."

Cricket Australia have also expressed its interest in continuing to persuade the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to allow Indian players to play in the Big Bash League (BBL).
"That's certainly some conversations that we will continue to have with the BCCI. I mean, I would love to see, Virat Kohli playing in the BBL this year. That would certainly create some interest in crowds and ratings, I'm sure. But at the moment, that's not happening, but we do have our ambitions to do those types of things", said Greenberg.
With only 9 ODI series left to play before the 2027 ODI World Cup, Kohli and Rohit will be looking to make the most out of it as they will prepare for one last shot at glory after their disappointing loss at the hands of Australia in the finals of the 2023 ODI World Cup.
