Excitement is building at Arsenal after the club agreed a £67.5m deal with Crystal Palace to sign Eberechi Eze.
Mikel Arteta's side have beaten out North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the player's signature after swooping in at the final hour.
Eze is set to undergo medical tests at Arsenal on Friday (August 22) before signing his contract to complete his transfer.
Ahead of the England international finalising his move to the Emirates Stadium, one former Arsenal star has given his take on the club's imminent new arrival.
Paul Merson is a massive advocate of the Eze signing and is glad Arsenal got their hands on the attacking star amid multiple clubs having been interested in the player.

What Merson believes Eze can bring to Arsenal
"Eze is a brilliant signing for Arsenal. It's a game-changer and a perfect fit," said the Sky Sports pundit and columnist.
"If Arsenal had let Spurs get him, I'd have had to question what the club was doing because he's a quality player," he added.
Merson touched on how Eze can make a difference in the final third for Arteta's side and solve a major issue The Gunners have faced in recent seasons.
"Arsenal struggle when teams come to the Emirates and put everyone behind the ball. They have struggled to break teams down."
"For me, that's where Eze comes in. He's got the X-factor and in tight games, he has the ability to break a low block down," the former Gunners player explained.
Merson then made a bold prediction on how Arsenal's Premier League campaign will play out after agreeing a deal for the 27-year-old.
"I think Arsenal win the league with Eze. They had a chance without him because it's a real heads or tails season with Liverpool and Man City, but Eze help get them over the line."
Eze's transfer will not be completed in time for him to be involved in Arsenal's home league match with Leeds United on Saturday evening (August 23).
He is likely to make his debut for Arteta's side when they travel to play Liverpool on August 31.
