Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim faces fresh questions over his future at Old Trafford.
One win in the opening four games of the 2025/26 Premier League season - alongside an EFL Cup exit at the hands of fourth-tier side Grimsby Town - has ramped up the pressure on the Portuguese coach.
Derby defeat at rivals Manchester City is the latest setback for Amorim, who admitted he is unsure over the club's plans for him, ahead of clash with Chelsea on September 20.
Just two shots on target at the Etihad Stadium, alongside an xG of 1.51, underlined United's struggles to break down City on the home turf.
Two of Amorim's big-name summer signings - Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko started at City - but the former only has one league goal so far this season with the latter yet to find the back of the net.
As focus now switches back to what Amorim must do next, former captain and club record goalscorer Wayne Rooney had a clear message for the embattled United boss.

"You could hear the fans singing Amorim's name, but I think it's so powerful that the United fans were leaving the game."
Since his arrival 10 months ago, Amorim has won just 17 games across all competitions, at an overall ratio of 36%.
