The Indiana Pacers are heading to the NBA finals after beating the Knicks in Game 6, and some of the biggest cheers came from their WNBA neighbors the Indiana Fever. Caitlin Clark and teammates Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull were on hand at Gainbridge Fieldhouse joining the sold out crowd to celebrate the win.
Clark, 23, is still sidelined with an injury but was animated all night, pumping her fist, throwing up celebratory hand signs, and cheering as Tyrese Haliburton and company sealed the win. Social clips of her reactions quickly went viral, fueling the growing overlap between Pacers and Fever fanbases.
On the Fever official Instagram account, several moments from the big night were posted on Saturday, May 31, including behind-the-scenes footage of players like Kelsey Mitchell, NaLyssa Smith, and Kristy Wallace offering congratulations to the Pacers. “Boom baby!” Mitchell shouted, echoing a classic Indy rallying cry.
The Pacers haven’t reached the Finals since 2000, and the team’s run has energized basketball fans across Indiana. With Clark's rising star bringing new eyes to the Fever and the Pacers on a deep postseason run, Indianapolis is becoming one of the buzziest hoops cities in the country right now.
