In a recent 53-man roster projection, the Las Vegas Raiders are predicted to make a massive mistake and cut one of their top preseason standouts.

A to Z Sports' Justin Churchill predicts the Raiders will release rookie quarterback Cam Miller and place him on the practice squad to begin the 2025 campaign.

"[Aidan] O’Connell has been a starter for most of his career, and having that experience over the former Division II QB [Cam Miller], who’s also a rookie, is just more valuable. Make no mistake about it, Miller is coming for that spot," Churchill wrote. "Cam Miller makes the practice squad."

Miller has outperformed O'Connell in the preseason and brings a lot more excitement to the table. The 24-year-old's dual-threat skillset has dazzled in camp and preseason games, though he has still endured some of the typical rookie quarterback struggles.

Cutting Miller and placing him on the practice squad would be a horrible move by Las Vegas. This would eliminate any competition for O'Connell throughout the season, and the Raiders would also risk losing Miller if another team claims him off the practice squad.

Instead, Las Vegas should just keep three signal-callers on the roster. Geno Smith, O'Connell, and Miller would be the best quarterback room the team would have in years.

The Raiders are set to square off against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium on Saturday. O'Connell and Miller will be closely looked at, as this game could decide who the backup quarterback will be behind Smith.
