Ruston only has one true home game prior to district play, but it is a huge one against one of the best teams in Texas.

The Bearcats host Longview Friday in Ruston as they try to make their fourth straight appearance to the LHSAA Prep Classic. Last year, Ruston defeated the Lobos, 21-10, in Longview.

Ruston improved to 2-0 last week after a 63-28 win against Cabot (Ark.). Bearcat junior quarterback Sam Hartwell accounted for 301 of their 571 yards in the contest.

Longview sits at 2-1 after losing to South Oak Cliff last week. The Lobos gained 211 yards -- their lowest output of the season.
